Internal Auditor

Our Internal Auditor will be responsible for leading and executing an effective internal audit program that will ensure compliance at Compco Fire Systems.

What you’ll be doing:

• Perform process reviews across all departments and identify key areas of improvement.

• Develop and maintain the annual internal audit program in line with ISO 9001 requirements and business priorities.
• Produce concise, evidence-based audit reports with clear findings, risk ratings, root-cause observations and practical corrective/preventive action recommendations.
• Escalate significant findings to Quality Manager / Senior Management and support management review inputs.
• Support preparation for external certification and customer audits; act as point of contact during surveillance and re-certification.
• Deliver audit feedback and awareness sessions to departments to embed quality culture.
• Keep up to date with relevant industry standards (e.g., BS EN 12845, LPC Rules, NFPA where applicable) and changes to ISO requirements.

What you’ll need:

• Proven experience as an Internal Auditor or Quality professional in construction, mechanical services or fire protection industry.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and internal auditing techniques.
• Experience auditing both field operations (installation, commissioning) and corporate/support functions.
• Excellent report writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification (IRCA/CQI or equivalent).
• Technical background (HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar).
• Objective, independent thinker with high integrity.
• Organized, able to prioritize and manage multiple audits concurrently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
• Driving License.

This role requires the successful Internal Auditor to be within commuting distance to our Worcester Office: Cleeve House, Malvern Road, Worcester, WR2 4YX.
